Physical Computing Final Project

Recycled from last semester's project for Programming for Creativity. This was the combination of coding and using an Arduino to make a physical form of the flea-busting game.

In the first semester, I learned how to write basic code for a computer game using JavaScript and Processing.

About:

A game where the player needs to kill all of the fleas. When a flea is clicked on, it multiplies into a lot of smaller, faster fleas.

The player has exactly one minute to kill all of the fleas before the time is up.

If the player succeeds in killing all the fleas within one minute, they win. If the player does not, they lose.

How to operate the game:

Use the nine buttons to click on fast-moving and multiplying fleas to kill them.

Press the button(s) according to where a flea(s) is located to kill them.

E.g. If a flea is in the top right corner, press the top right button to kill it.

Set up with the Arduino and wiring:

  • Arduino set up: Buttons and wiring

  • Servo processed as a time tracker/countdown clock

  • Recycled lunchbox to contain Arduino and hardware components
