We need to measure the height and width of an AUT recycling bin. We also need to measure the size of the hole where the rubbish goes into and consider the size of the rubbish going in and how it will fit. Today we started on the measurements of the pieces of scrap wood, according to the size of the bins. We also started the basic cutting of the wood in the mechatronics lab.

The ideal result of the design would be a wooden box, containing the arduino set up and hardware. We also considered putting the label printer/discount dispenser further up on a stick of wood supported by other sticks scaffolding it. There could be spillage and mess made onto the label printer when somebody chucks rubbish into the bin and it could potentially get damaged, and in a worse case scenario, a safety hazard.
