Woodwork…

Woodwork…

Very rough skeleton of what the wooden box should look like. This is the ideal size of the box, according to that top/front piece. The box needs to sit tightly on the bin so the measurements from the wooden hole to the bin hole is accurate and fitted well.

We still need to finish the cutting of the side pieces and end pieces, as well as perfecting the top part, by “perfection”, we mean to make it look rough and janky because we are using re-used materials to build it. So there would be no need to make it look pretty. Just triple-checking the measurements of the bin and pieces of wood just to be sure is crucial as we need to make the box sit on top of the bin rather than hovering over and around it (may turn out messy).

We also need to consider the safety hazards like splinters or sharp corners incase there will be kids around on the showcase. Any other issues we will try to avoid and make this as convenient and safe as possible.

So far I think as a group we have been pretty productive these past few weeks but there is still much to get through and finalise within less than a month. But these next weeks are going to be busy as well with other classes. Our goal to hopefully finish this project (building and coding) by before week 13.
